The Croydon ‘Urban Room’ pioneered a new type of meaningful council engagement, in the form of an agile kit-of-parts which facilitates learning, exhibition and events about the past, present and future of Croydon. The custom made, flexible design was purposefully domestic in scale; facilitating intimate ‘living room’ events in familiar locations of exchange such as high streets, markets, libraries and shopfronts.
The project was shortlisted in the MEANWHILE category for the New London Awards 2020.
