For the Swatch initiative ‘MIKA 4 Swatch’, Art & Assembly collaborated with the musician MIKA and artist Yasmine Penniman in the realisation of a series of large hand carved wooden masks.

MANDALA
Carved from solid ebonised Lime wood and ebonised Oak. The internal pattern is a design by MIKA and hand-painted by painter Yasmine Penniman.

FLAME
This mask is hewn from a solid block of Lime wood. Its jaw slides open to reveal the watch inside.

TEMPLE
Carved from a block of Cherrywood, and finished with a head-piece made from steam bent wood and hand-embroidered feathers.

PRODUCT PACKAGING
To complete the project, we assisted with the packaging design by creating a sculptural prototype for the collection from the 2D design provided by MIKA. The packaging was then individually hand painted by painter Yasmine Penniman.
